Last week one of our teacher told us about revelation on a french TV real program called La nouvelle star. It was about a phone joke on a radio station made by an humourist to a judge of this Tv program. Available by podcat on the web, the story explains how evrything is done before people choose their singer. I already known about that but now everybody as well ! and to illustrate this kind of TV show, we have watched a short video on a ridiculous man from American Idole the US show. please enjoy the moment and have a good laugh or cry ....And now I can confess that it's me the worth singer in the world!

Unfortunately, I didn't get any answer from my blog,even from you Bob !! But sometimes I had a look to other blogs from our class to check what exemples they used and also to find out information on what I didn't understand. Our class blogosphere was great to compare our skills, passion, motivation but I'm sure that in a few months all these blogs are going to die...Otherwise, this kind of exchange is great when you study for 3 years in the same school in which you can follow and share all the student life and the scholl programs, but not for me this period is over, snif !

A job for me

My last job involved a lot of e-communication skills because I was in charge of communication in an international environment. The company has more than 80 subsidiaries all over the 5 continents. So, I had to develop forum on the intranet to allow engineers to exchange their experience, to open each space in 3 languages, etc. For sure they may be think now of organising some of the committee boards using video conference avoiding manager coming from the United states or Asia (and reduce cost of travel).

Otherwise I would like to work as a communication manager in charge of developing new ways of working in a company, using all new technologies. I don't have many other exemples because for the moment I'm a bit lost about my professional carrier.

Interactivity of our e-class

I think the level of interactivity is lower than in a typical class because:
- we can only exchange with you when you decide to call us
- we can't exchange so much with other student because each is very concentrated on his proper work
- we can't react to something or give our point of view on a issue you are discussing with somebody
- we only hear you during few minutes instead of 3 hours of English speaking, but you practice more our writing English
- I miss you and your attendance
- I think the use of e-learning is a more individualist practice, compare to all the sharing we can have through a real class room. But it's a really useful thing to avoid travelling, when you lack of time to reach a teaching place, when you want to decide when you get time to have a tech program, also because it could be cheaper.

My knowledge about Podcasting

I heard about podcasting from the end of last year, but I really discovered the word and its application from my first steps in Celsa. By the way, I will say that this kind of thing already existed from at least 2 years with the beginning of stuff to download, and has been turn in innovation by the radio and cinema industry. Thanks to you, I started to find out podcast on the web, download and listen to it but especially create my own. I’m sure it could be of interest for people travelling a lot and equipped with an mp3 or Ipod system. Personally, I just listen to the radio while driving and need to podcast a program before. After talking with you, I know that you want me to organize my mind by stage , so I promise I will do it as soon as I finish other levels.

Please don't tell ma about shopping at the moment because I’m completely broken, and I can’t afford almost nothing! Anyway, if it’s true that we will use our mobile phone for a lot of new uses, i.e. for shopping what will it change? The customer will receive 50 times per day, add and offers to buy things he doesn’t need, and when I will decide to purchase something he will be in a place without network connected! As 70% (maybe more) of people when I need to find out something on the web, I have a look first to Google, the bible of web users!!! A couple of month ago (starting at Celsa), I also discovered the Wikipedia site, in which a found out plenty of information to realize a study about the Palo Alto school. Otherwise, last time I tried the Exalead site, which seams to be efficient as a search engine of new generation. Otherwise, during this class I always asked other students if they can provide me information, or I just cheated on them ihihi

I can’t believe it! After spending more than 20 minutes writing a long speech about it, the system collapsed and I lost my entire message! I can't stand more, I'm really in a hurry and I feel sad...For sure now it works! It did it again before I saved my last message! now I cry! So, please bob apologize, but if you want, we can discuss about it tomorrow online via msn, because now I’m giving up. I did a long speech twice and each time the system collapsed...Ok I would have saved it on Word before but it’s not so more interactive?!!!

E-Learning and so more ?

I did well appreciate my first experience of e-learning with this class. I was really my first time, but because of using tools like Msn, I wasn't lost so much....It what also amazing how everybody is very concentrated on doing his work, with finally not a lot of exchange between us,...Everybody was waiting for your call, to have a particular time with you. That’s my concept of using e-learning, I need feeling having a teacher only for me, who helps and directs me to improve my skills. So, e-learning as practising this way is quit appreciable. I don’t know if I will have the opportunity to do it again in the future, but I do prefer when you were physically there, because I don’t want the human to be replaced by a machine, even if it’s probably to late now….

Click and mortar company
Means a company which exists both on real market and on the web, doing business through a store and on the web. For exemple Yves Rocher for cosmestic products.
Pure dotcom company
Means a company which has been created because of the internet and which only exists through an http address. A dotcom company only supplies electronic services which don’t need any storage place and delivery activities. For example Yahoo is the perfect kind of a dotcom company.
Monetize an internet model
Could determine what is the e-business model of e-company. Does the company earn money by selling stuf online i.e. Aquarelle for flours, or only by selling adverts on their own pages i.e. Allocine, or just because they are impossible to circumvent i.e. Wikipedia. Sorry, if monetize means to go from something that is free to something that is paid! I have to changed my previous post..
Intellectual property
For me it means the rights to use an “intellectual creation” (invention, ideas, technique, brand) developed and recorded on a legal basis. According to Wikipedia, the term intellectual property reflects the idea that this subject matter is the product of the mind or the intellect, and that intellectual property rights may be protected at law in the same way as any other form of property. Concretely, if you ask my opinion about the question of intellectual property and if I’m in favour of people being allowed to share freely things like records, films and so on, I would say, that even if sharing things for free or "illegally" is forbidden by the law (for stuff to be paid in a normal way), I can't imagine how you can control all the exchange and the connexion through the web. It's so a huge territory, with new ways to get things for free everyday, that I’m sure there will always be people to find tips to share with all internet users to going on getting things for free. And in a way I agree with that, because you can’t promote all the values of sharing and open boundaries in the web 2.0 philosophy, and in a other hand prevent people play the game only when it suit to the major companies...
Digital Rights Management (DRM)
Again, according to Wikipedia, Digital rights management (DRM) is the umbrella term referring to any of several technologies used to enforce pre-defined policies controlling access to software, music, movies, or other digital data and hardware. I’ve been told that the artist Prince put so powerful DRM on his last CD music, than even if you have bought and paid it normally, you were not able to play and listen it an your equipment !! Enough is enough….
TIVO
A TiVo box, powered by the amazing TiVo service, automatically finds and digitally records all of your favorite shows, every time they're on. Every episode of your favorite series. Time Shifting

Streaming media
Is media that is consumed (read, heard, viewed) while it is being delivered. For example you can listen to radio station on Internet while the program is performing, so you may listen to FIP radio while working on your blog, it relax you

Is a sound or video program recorded most of the time by a broadcast and available on Internet sites. It allows users to download the program and to listen to it when convenient and/or to save it on an mp3 or Ipod to enjoy the show while travelling for example. You also can subscribe to receive regularly your favourite programs directly on your computer. Otherwise, you can also make your own podcast like we do with Bob. It’s quit funny and easy (you only need a headset, Audacity software, with time and patience), but at last it’s really a good experience to listen to your voice, tell a story, and share it with people through your personal website, if you get one of course !
EULA, for End User Licensing Agreement

A longtail marketing strategy
I don’t really understand what a longtail marketing strategy means exactly. I asked two students, visited their blogs, and searched on the web, but I’m still in a fog. Anyway, I tried to explain my mind Wednesday night, please refer to my Ggrrrrr post. Anyway, I understand this term as a business niche to be developed to create in a future a long queue for the products in a very short period of time. That’s maybe why the example of the Da Vinci Code book has been mentioned is this context? For me the success of this book is rather due to a big buzz during a summer period, when everybody laying on the beach was reading this book. At last, I’ve just discovered a site which explains me the longtail marketing concept. But now I have to think about it before giving my example.

Blogging up my passion

One of my passion is watching movies either in a cinema or from a DVD. Last friday, I went to see MI3 with the beautiful Tom and I also discovered that for most of huge production a dedicated website is created. Now it's monday and, before going in a few moment to see the film C.R.A.Z.Y, I had a look trough the site but not too long because I wanted to keep the surprise...I will tell you at my return my comments on it. WONDERFUL it's really crazy, incredible, marvelous and so much more howe I have loved this film.
It tells the story of a young Canadian boy borned in 1960 in a family already composed with 3 older boys and with a new one to be born 4 years later. With the particular sense of showing simple people in an extraordinary movement, it brings up us to a reflection of deep feelings shared in a family, and how it could be so difficult to find and accept yourself when you feel different from others. In fact, Zach from his childhood until more than his twenty is divided between his attraction for boys and his male environement with a father as a macho man. Full with deep feelings, the story tells us how it could be hard to be gay and to make it accepted by yourself, your family and friends, because you feel lost in your mind filled with your first sexual attraction and the shame you feel at the same time. I cryed, I laughed, I escaped for 2 hours in their lifes and I thank the director for that.To see in a hurry !

...my lack of enthusiasm about e-everything ..its may be why I have difficulties to agree every principles and way how internet take part in my life. I can't feel really captivate by things going on the web, because for me I would say that it's only useful but not wonderful compare to the real life...When I use Internet it's to find one particular thing and not spending hours on it, because in fact I hate this...and the other hand, I really appreciate doing sport, meeting friends, making love, walking on the street, speaking with someone, or having o good rest...I know that e-everything will take a big place in the future, but for the moment I "can't stand more" about all marvelous things happening with Internet...but I swear I will do my best to change my mind and do my best again to open it...

1- Outsource of the customer
Means do it yourself, like to credit your bank account using your bank online service, instead of asking your bank agent, for i.e the Credit Agricole or with the online tax administration you are asked to do by yourself your declaration.
2 - Cannibalize your market
It seems to be crazy to do that but I've been told that it's like that, so please read L'équipe on line. Or instead to call the 118008, you can find information on the yellow pages for free.
3 - Treat each customer as a market segment
Nobody knows me, but because I've signed in once, they can offer things according to my profil, available for each subscribing to a newsletter for i.e. l'internaute
4 - Create a community of value

5 - Replace rude interfaces with learning interfaces
Instead of checking words in a dictionnary, I just have to enter my word in google translator, useful but not always helpful because of some mistakes...

But for a luxury brand, at least for the moment it's still important to have "pignon sur rue", but they have also launched the e-shopping from its site.
10 - Destroy your value chain
Because of the gig increase of the online market, Nouvelle Frontière should stop opening new stores, or maybe is going to close the existing ones, to delete an intermediary and then save moneys and destroy jobs...
11 - Manage innovation as a portfolio of options
Never put on all your egs in the same basket should be the motto of every good companies as again google which is currently buying several little companies to extend its offers and services to grow up and keep on existing in the future. It also could be in another way like Auchandirect which sells now directly on the web and which offer plenty of payment choices to convince more people.
12 - Hire the Children
That is really truth. Younger people are really more confortable and lively with new technology coming up on mobile phone, on the web and generally with computers and video games. They manage well with technicity and you can always ask them to use a PSP !

Friday night, I played poker with friends....and after 3 hours I succeed to earn more 7 euros ! From 7 players at the beginning, each with 5 euros to start playing, we finished at 4 around the table…It was the third time that I played and its’ incredible how you feel stress and concentrated when you get good cards on hand and you have to imagine if you get chances to win…After that my friends watched a final of the World poker Tour on TV featuring the champion of 1 million dollar !

Of course, one of the most importante thing on the web is the link between information and related subjects. A couple of weeks ago, I've been invited to join a new French professionel network named Viaduc offering me plenty opportunities to meet people and especially to create new contact to find out jobs. The first intention was great and they promise you to increase your contact network in one click, but of course one month later you discover that you have to pay to continue using all fonctionalities....I hate beeing oblige to subscribe without having beeing notice of that at the beginning !

It's truth, the web is changing all the time, for instance we can see 3 examples:

I've just noticed something very amaysing on the last pages of the Liberation newspaper. In the entre nous section there are people looking for someone they met for example in a coffee, a train, but at this time they didn't say anything to the person. After that, they pay to publish their announce in this section and hope to discover again the person...With my mind open, I have difficulties to understand why the person either dare to talk to the other person the first time it happens or just forget that, instead of trying to look for again the same person lost between 60 millions of french ?

Actually, I've often heard about it, especialy since 2 months, but never listen or download any program, so I just know that most of web sites editors propose this kind of stuff and seems to be easy to listen and/or download. Nevertheless, I think it is very useful if you have time to listen from home or if you get an mp3 player to listen during travel. I also think that with the multiplication of podcast programs you need to be sure before downloading one that you make the right choice..
Let me first define what a podcast is :
A podcast is an audio file that can be played using a computer, MP3 player or an iPod.Podcasts are like radio shows but instead of being broadcast using radiowaves they are broadcast over the internet.

My first choice of podcast

I choosed a podcast talking about football, because I'm a big fan. So we will be listen to a
weekly summary of the world in football, soccer and at SoccerGossip site. This is a fan oriented show.

- All corporate web sites even if they are not so popular....for instance Vinci
because they are not selling anything but they promote their public image and try to make their subsidiaries well known to make business through their.
- Otherwise and to be more serious, I propose:

Google make us addicted to use their site site for many years now, that's why maybe Google is now so popular and the leader of the search engine on the web !
How Google make money ?
I've learned this morning that Google started making money by selling their technology to other companyes which wanted to include a search engine in their site. For 2 years, they also win money by selling links of ads.
Incredible !
From a couple of months now, I tried to reflect on the question, because it's still unbelivable for me....I still have difficulty to understand how Google works and how they make so much money ...I just know that they also have a important R&D department and they are often the first to edit some new functions (google earth, google money, and so on !!), and maybe sell it also to the others ?...
Otherwise I just congratule the 2 men for their really american success story and wish the company to grow up successfuly in the future...
